Rice, the chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content, a division of the company that produces more than 300 shows per year for platforms such as ABC, Disney Channel, and others, was fired by Disney CEO Bob Chapek in a brief meeting on Wednesday, according to credible sources (June 8).
The 56-year-old, who previously oversaw ABC News, recently renewed his contract with Disney in August. It was supposed to last until 2024, but he will be compensated by the company.
